If you are expecting It to be even more disturbing and bloodier than the first film, then you will be disappointed! Chapter One focused on the traumatic events and emotional pain associated with child abuse, and Chapter Two takes the story into a much darker territory.
It is very much possible to think about the horror of the first installment, and even more so to compare it to that second one. You know the feeling, the one that comes over you when you see a trailer for a new horror movie or hear about a new horror novel. Well, it is a very similar feeling when you watch Chapter 2!
The central character of Chapter 2 is a girl named Sarah (Sophia Lillis), who is a child psychologist in an upper class family in America. Sarah is hired by a mysterious woman (Emma Roberts) to take care of her four-year-old daughter, Alice (Emayatzy Corinealdi), who was abandoned by her family. Alice seems to be quite innocent at the same time, but that naivety eventually leads Alice to death. When Alice's lifeless body turns up in a local park, Sarah's life is put to a question of guilt, as she suspects that the mysterious woman might be innocent in order to get a job as a child psychologist.
Online Movie Database gives us the first trailer for the film:
In the trailer we can catch a glimpse of the movie's many characters, including Dr. Sarah (Milla Jovovich), the daughter of the main character. While she works as a child psychologist, she is often criticized by other parents for not keeping their children safe and for the kind of relationship she has with her daughter. In fact, one of the most disturbing scenes of the trailer involves a young girl, Alice, running naked from an open grave, and she is chased by a group of men. It is unclear what happens to Alice after that, but we do know that Dr. Sarah will confront her.
The release date of the sequel to It: Chapter One is not yet known. It is scheduled to be released on January 8th, 2020, but it is still to be screened by movie critics.
The cast of the sequel is almost as big as the cast of the original film, and it has to be said that, at least for the moment, the actors and actresses from the first film are more likely to appear in it than they are in the upcoming sequel. But there are still some major surprises, which are already being worked out for the next film, which will make this one a very special one.
I highly recommend checking out the trailer if you haven't seen the original version of It: Chapter One. It is sure to make your jaws drop when you watch it!
