Civil War is the newest blockbuster movie to hit theaters. Many critics and audiences alike praised the action-packed action that was set against the backdrop of World War II. For this film, Marvel Studios turned to some of their most popular characters and created a thrilling, action packed movie for fans to enjoy.
The story starts in the aftermath of the Civil War when S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are tracking down a group of soldiers who have banded together to form Hydra. When Hydra sends an agent to kill Captain America, he ends up killing Agent 13 (Emilio Estevez), the first female member of the team, leaving her devastated and a broken woman. However, when a new recruit, the mysterious Baron Zemo (James Spader), arrives on the scene and begins to take control of the team, Cap is forced to do something that even the Avengers would be scared of - he has to sacrifice his own life!
In the film, Baron Zemo sets out to recruit the best members of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra for what he calls the Initiative, a plan that will see a number of agents from both sides clash with each other in order to see who will win the war. Unfortunately, this also means that some innocent people will get caught in the middle. Captain America makes the ultimate sacrifice to save the day and the lives of the team, but at the same time, he sacrifices himself.
The storyline of the Civil War was one that was very interesting to watch as it featured a lot of interesting twists and turns. Most importantly, Cap's death changed the dynamic of the team. Instead of focusing on his good work and fighting for what was right, Cap is now just another follower of Hydra.
One of the major elements of the Civil War was the introduction of T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman), the rightful king of Wakanda. The comic book world, however, did not always portray T'Challa as a strong, independent person and many viewers saw him as too traditional to be a powerful leader. Thankfully, Marvel Studios took a risk and made the character more powerful and heroic by making him more of an equal to Cap. as the story progresses.
Fans of the comic books have been waiting for Marvel to make a big screen version of their favorite stories. Now that they finally have, they can see what their favorite characters were all about in this exciting film.
